Data Designer

This is a market leader always innovating and improving on data bast practice as they bring together data from hundreds of systems and thousands of data feeds into their bleeding edge Google Cloud Platform.

In This Role You Will Work On:

• Translation of Data from many Different Sources
  • How are you going to acquire the Data
  • Converting into useable Data forms
  • This can be mirrors of Application Databases where it is more on how the data will be supplied or it can be one of Data you need to extract in a usable form or take from Nested Lists etc.

• Understanding what the Users need & create User Stories
  • You liaise direct with Stakeholders to understand what they expect of the Data
  • You work closely with Data Architect to refine solutions
  • You learn how the Data will be used when you pass it on to the likes of Insight Analysts or Data Analysts but you don't use the data yourself nor do you build reports in this role

• Based on your high-level understanding Create Robust Data Models
  • Factor in Scale and Scalability
  • Factor in Late Arriving Data
  • Factor in Multiple Data Sources

• Map it out so the Data can be used effectively by other teams, you always pass this data off to someone else, this role is not suited to a Data Analyst who wants to interpret the data as you would never get to do that

• You work closely with the Dev Team, you explain how the build out solution looks but you don't develop it yourself

What you bring:

• Strong skills in SQL within a Data Warehouse environment using Large Volumes of Data, you can't be considered without this

• You are strong in combining lots of different fields of data at Scale, know how to bring it together efficiently, use modern Data Warehouse best practice and bonus if that includes cloud or Teradata experience but not essential

• Experience of working with Stakeholders to understand the end goal and be able to deliver the Data they need in the form they can use, this should include technical documentation, translating into user stories covering functional, non-functional, security & acceptance criteria

• You will have experience of Designing Data models - Snowflake and Star schemas for example

• You design of ETL pipelines for Scaled Data Warehouse projects
