Our client have an exciting opportunity for a motivated, determined individual to join our growing team at our "cutting edge" manufacturing facility as a Production Team Leader on their second shift. You will have the opportunity to work with the latest technology and manufacturing equipment producing sheet metal components for high end customers in a fast paced environment.

The successful candidate must possess extremely good communication skills with an excellent understanding of leading a team who are driven by an "on-time delivery" performance. You must be able to work under pressure, organising detailed work to lists and ensuring effective delivery.

The successful candidate must have a friendly, reliable and personal approach to this leadership role. Can learn and adjust quickly to an ever changing range of products. You must be well organised, flexible and able to adapt to new challenges. Our client are not averse to an individual who has exceptionally strong sheet metal engineering experience with an ambitious personality looking to develop their leadership career.

Job Specifications:

* Improve the performance of the team by encouraging flexibility and multi-skilling of all work colleagues by recognising and developing the training needs of the team/individual.

* Hold a start of shift meeting with the team. Establish daily objectives and allocate work.

* Improve the general housekeeping within the factory, using the 5's disciplines available.

* Ensure that all team members work in a safe manner and adhere to safety directives.

* Report any Health & Safety matters including accidents immediately to the Production Manager.

* Able to make relevant decisions to change or improve manufacturing processes in order to reduce internal lead time and improve workflow.

* Carry out regular inspections to ensure that the quality of all manufactured components are to the acceptable standards.

* Make sure that the manning of all processes are correct at all times and ensure that suitable cover is in place when required

Person Specification:

* Sound in depth knowledge of all sheet metal processes/techniques.

* Good understanding of Microsoft Office, Excel and Word applications

* Be able to interpret and work from CAD created engineering drawings

* Have previous experience of working as a supervisor running a team of up to 10 skilled sheet metal engineers (desirable)

* Worked in a fast paced production environment where efficiency and quality are both key

* Have a keen eye for quality and able to work with the quality team to ensure a "right first time" approach to work

* Be able to monitor and achieve production KPI's, liaising with other section heads to ensure workflow through the factory is smooth. Keeping internal lead times to a minimum and ensuring delivery to customer is "on time"

* Strong problem solving skills and able to work on your own initiative

* NEBS Supervisory management qualification or equivalent would be desirable

* A recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship (desirable)

* Minimum BTEC level 3 in mechanical engineering qualification

* Previous experience of CNC turret punching/laser cutting, press brake a panel bending would be beneficial

* Amada press brake experience would be desirable.

* Salvagnini panel bending experience would also be an advantage

Terms and Conditions:

Starting salaries:

* DOE = GBP11.50/Hr - GBP13.25/Hr

* Shift Allowance - GBP2.00/Hr

Hours of work:

* Monday - Thursday = 16.45 - 03.15 (40 Hrs/Week)

Holidays:

* 28 days leave per year - 8 days fixed with 20 days floating
