The recent school closures have left students, on average, 3 months behind in their studies with over 44% of pupils requiring catch up tuition in the coming academic year. Owing to such, the government have allocated additional funding to support children in need of extra tuition.
Considering these recent developments, we are currently recruiting for a Qualified Primary Teacher to tutor a teenage boy one to one in mathematics. The pupil is on a education, health and care ( EHC ) plan and needs specialist support as he currently learning at a primary school level. This role could be a full-time or part-time position so there will be flexibility and if you are a supply teacher this role would be perfect for you. To be considered for this role you must have a QTS, also SEMH experience is welcomed. However, it isn't a requirement.
As a 1:1 catch-up tutor, you would deliver pre-planned sessions. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of the curriculum, and confident in implementing behavioural management policies. After such a long period away from the classroom, it can only be expected that some students will find it harder than others to return to school. The successful candidate should therefore be of a nurturing nature and prepared to assist the pupil return to school life as much as possible.
