Legal Counsel

Their small but highly regarded in-house legal team has the need to recruit a Legal Counsel. Reporting into the General Counsel the role will provide timely legal advice and support to the business to reduce risk, whilst helping reduce the cost and dependency of the business on external counsel.

Working collaboratively with the General Counsel and stakeholders within the business you will be tasked with providing high quality, clear, pragmatic legal advice for corporate and commercial matters on a broad range of projects and propositions. The role will predominantly focus on a varied range of complex, high profile, high value and business critical contracts both in the UK and internationally. The work will be challenging and complicated but ultimately rewarding.

The successful candidate will ideally be a minimum of 6 years PQE with a strong general company commercial background. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of and experience in contract law/commercial contracts including Procurement and IT contracts. Experience of dealing with Data Protection and GDPR matters is essential. You must be a skilled communicator and capable of interacting with the business at all levels. The role will also afford the opportunity to manage and mentor junior members of the team.

The company is based in Milton Keynes; initially home based you will need to be in the office 2-3 days per week when the offices reopen.
