Introduction

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, join the multidisciplinary team at Thornford Park in Thatcham where you will help people develop new skills and build a brighter future.

You will have experience in managing a designated caseload using theoretical and practical experience, completing assessments, planning, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes aligned to care plans. You'll be joining a supportive network of healthcare professionals, including the Senior and Lead Occupational Therapist.

Undertaking assessments using the Model of Human Occupation (MoHo) framework, you will be an integral member of the team in the implementation and development of evidence-based therapeutic activities to aid mental health recovery.

Your expertise will be put to good use in supporting people to engage in a variety of activities to help them positively progress through their care plans. You will contribute to team meetings, attend ward rounds, and CPA meetings where you will feedback on service users' progress.

Role - Senior Occupational Therapist

Location - Thatcham, Berkshire

Salary - GBP32,000 - GBP36,000 Pro Rata+ Benefits

Hours - 37.5, Full-Time

This Senior OT role involves:
To be involved and active in the development of a need led service.

To provide clinical services both on an individual and group basis.

To be responsible for the provision of specialised assessments, such as Community Safety and Activities of Daily Living.

To deliver a group activities programme in conjunction with colleagues.

To be responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating individual and group treatment programs.

To provide appropriate reports on assessment, treatment and progress of all patient on caseload.

To maintain awareness of evidence based knowledge and developments within both the Occupational Therapy profession and Mental Health needs.
To provide regular supervision of junior staff, and students on practice placement where appropriate.
To be successful in this role:
At least 18 months experiences of working in mental health settings, post Occupational Therapy training.
Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy.
HPC Registration.
Knowledge of Mental Health Act 1983 & CPA
Knowledge on the Model of Human Occupation.
Some understanding of various other O.T. models of practice and its clinical application.
Where you will be working

Location: Thornford Park, Crookham Hill, Thatcham, Berkshire, RG19 8ET

You will be working at Thornford Park, a 130 bedded independent hospital that supports service users that require medium and low secure Forensic Mental Health Services. In addition to these services, there is also a PICU Mental Health Service.

The service provides a seamless internal care pathway supporting and empowering people in their recovery and rehabilitation.

Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will provide personalised assessment and treatment programmes for males with mental illness/complex care needs as well as those with personality disorder and females and males in a PICU service.
