This large secondary school for 11-18-year olds, located in Enfield, North London are seeking to appoint an outstanding science graduate with a 1st or 2.1 Class Degree, for the role of a Teaching Assistant. You will be supporting within the Science Department at the school, working with both low ability pupils, and the gifted and talented, to enhance their skill and ability levels. Under the leadership of the new head the school have ambitious plans to improve standards, the school were recently graded as 'Good' in 2015, and the Head teacher and Governors are confident that's, due to the hard work and dedication of the staff, the school will have no problem in achieving a grade of 'Outstanding' in their next inspection.
As a Science Teaching Assistant, you will be moving throughout the department to match demand, working across the different Key-Stages to maximise your experience. Your responsibilities will include working as and where needed and acting as the lead for intervention groups as-well as 1:1 with pupils. As your skills and confidence increases, you will be given the opportunity to plan and deliver your own Science lesson, showing off your skills to the Head of Science, who is keen to offer salaried Teacher Training routes to those who excel in this role.
