Our client is a leader in providing equipment management solutions in the healthcare sector. To manage their growth plans, they now need a Procurement Manager with experience of procuring medical equipment in their Capital Equipment team. You role will be to achieve class-leading procurement of medical imaging and EBME equipment in support of the multi-million pound service offerings from our clients, who are predominantly NHS Trusts.
Assisting the Head of Procurement with circa GBP20M annual team pend, you will have a high degree of autonomy. You will be allocated and agreed target budget and expected to deliver the agreed margins.
Your role:
Managing the capital tender process to procure all equipment for the Group's MES schemes, Biomed and Endoscopy contracts.
Work closely with Implementation and Technology to support supplier management during the equipment selection stage.
Work closely with the New Business team to support company bids and supplier selection.
Assist the Head of Procurement to negotiate pricing and terms, with special focus on through-life support costs and Supplier Management.
As agreed with the Head of Procurement, build into Capital ITTs terms and deliverables that support the Group's strategic objectives to self-maintain.
Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of Capital POs.
Achieving agreed margins against budget targets.
Working closely with the procurement service contract team, deliver agreed levels of supplier management, with focus on long-term sustainability, quality and profitability.
Support the Head of Procurement in agreeing internal SLAs with our internal customers.
Maintain Capital records and from these prepare agreed monthly reports.
Continue with the development and ongoing management of a capital repository.
The person:
Proven procurement experience in procuring medical equipment or devices
CIPS 3 or 4, qualified or working towards
At least 4 years procurement experience within an integrated supply chain, including managing significant spend.
Experience in Cost Management, SRM and Performance Improvement.
Experience of negotiating and specifying procurement of high value equipment.
Proven ability to work successfully in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary environment.
Appreciation of whole life cost management.
Knowledge and experience of EBME, Endoscopy and / or diagnostic imaging devices would be advantageous
