Relief Social Care Assistant
Hours are offered on an as and when required basis
GBP11.06 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)
A shift allowance will be paid for unsocial hours worked where appropriate
The Glaitness Centre is located in Kirkwall and comprises purpose built supported accommodation, a short breaks house, and day care facilities for people with physical disabilities. There will be opportunity to work in all parts of the service, including occasional night shift as the service requires.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who is able to work both on an individual basis and as a member of a team. You will adopt a person-centred approach to deliver a high standard of flexible and responsive care to service users within the Supported Accommodation, Short Breaks and Day Service. You will provide support and assistance to service users using the re-ablement approach that includes support and assistance to maximise and maintain their independence and to access community facilities. You should have knowledge and experience of Support Planning and Risk Assessing in relation to people who have disabilities and be committed to the principles of social inclusion.
Qualifications
A minimum standard of experience of working with this service user group is preferred and willingness to undertake SVQ2 is required to meet the requirements of registration with the SSSC within 5 years of commencement in the post.
This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with adults.
