Requirements
To provide services within Fife Council's homeless temporary accommodation.

Carry out booking in and out with homeless customers within the Fife Council temporary accommodation properties throughout Fife. Carry out regular visits to the accommodation.

Arrange the property set-up's and maintenance in the homeless temporary accommodation, in void and accommodated accommodation.

To arrange and monitor jobs with Building Services and external contractors to enable homeless people to be provided with a good standard of temporary accommodation.

To provide a void turnaround service for homeless temporary accommodation across Fife to a range of Council and partners properties as required.

Before confirming appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
The Individual
You should have knowledge and experience of homelessness and housing issues.

Educated to SCQF level 5, which includes National 5 or SVQ level 2 or Standard Grades at Credit Level or equivalent.

You should be a confident user of IT applications, showing ability to use packages effectively.

You will be expected to carry out the tasks of the job to maintain standards of temporary accommodation along with face to face booking homeless customers in and out of the accommodation as well as making regular visits.

Job requests are received from a range of housing staff for works to be carried out in temporary accommodation, including flats. You will arrange;
  • Carry out property inspections and arrange all void works required
  • Arrange works to be carried out by contractors and Building Services as required to turn around properties to set standards, allowing the properties to be re-allocated in a timely manner
  • Arrange a suitable book in/out date and time with Homeless Customers
  • Carry out the book in/out process in the homeless properties
  • Carry out regular visits to the void and accommodated properties
  • Complete all paperwork and update system as required.

You will be required to carry out property inspections to identify works required and monitor contractors work within the temporary accommodation throughout Fife.

Carry out all financial transactions are processed on the Council's Oracle financial system.

All staff are required to contribute to the development of the team.

The successful candidate must be able to work within professional boundaries and maintain confidentiality.

You should be able to work as part of a team or on your own as required.
