Job Description
We are looking for an Intake Social Worker, ideally with some prior experience, to join the Children and Families Service in Stirling Council. The role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a busy frontline Team, working closely with partners and colleagues across the Council as well as in Health, the Police and elsewhere.
Prospective candidates will have good values and principles, hold a clear understanding of GIRFEC process and practice, be committed to improving the life circumstances of children and families and to working well as part of a team. You will further have a solid understanding of supportive and protective strategies in working with children and families in difficulty and be able to reflect sound communication skills.
The nature of the post means that candidates have to be able to appropriately identify, intervene and address need and risk, organise and manage their workload and work well with wider team colleagues and others. As the first line of service contact, the Intake-Duty Team have to provide a responsive, frontline Social Work service reflecting high standards of practice undertaken in accordance with legislation and guidance, following Council policy and procedure and within agreed budgets.

Out of Hours consultation is occasionally required as is flexibility re normal working hours. This post is advertised on a permanent basis and is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Applicants for this post are required to be registered with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
