St Asasph - North Wales

Exciting opportunities have arisen to work in our Modern Technologies Manufacturing company based in St Asasph, North Wales, which has seen substantial investment in state of the art machinery.

We are looking to strengthen our teams specifically within the Polishing, CNC and Diamond Turning Departments.

Job Outline

To produce precision optical lens components to the defined limits of dimensional accuracy that meet the customers drawing specifications.

To use your skills and develop processes and procedures that enable high efficiency across various types of materials, (IR and Visible) in a temperature controlled, clean environment.

Key responsibilities
  • Set and operate a range of Polishing or Diamond Turning Equipment to ensure efficient production.
  • Select and inspect the relavant tooling required to produce the components.
  • Inspect and measure the components being produced throughout the process using interferometry and test plates.
  • Read engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
  • Ensure scrap and rework levels are kept to a minimum level
  • Be involved in process and business improvement initiaves.
  • High standards of housekeeping for the equipment and work areas.
  • Communication with other departments and pesonel.
Personal specification
  • It is essential that suitable candidates must have experience of working with various infrared and visible material in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of high-end measuring equipment.
  • A good team player is required, with strong attention to detail as well as excellent timekeeping and punctuality.
  • Ability to develop others as required.
Hours & Company Benefits

40 hours per week 8am to 4.30pm Mon to Fri. Shift work and overtime may be required.
Initial 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays which will increase with length of service, pension scheme and life insurance.
