We are a 48 bedded nursing home that currently includes 9 beds for rehabilitation by the WHCCG.
We are a looking to recruit a Registered Nurse for Night Shifts (12 hours to begin with) who has a commitment about caring for older people and to provide the best care and quality standards to join our supportive caring and friendly team. This is a part time position working 36 hours per week.
- To ensure that appropriate individual care is given in the planning and delivery of Nursing Care to each resident, within the home.
- Co-ordinate "Service Users" care provided by all members of staff and other support and advice where necessary.
- Maintain good communications with clients, relatives professionals and other visitors.
- To assist day staff in helping residents to prepare for bed, as required.
- To act upon instructions from the Matron regarding specific tasks to be carried out during the night.
- To carry out regular checks on residents throughout the night, according to set intervals and with due regard to residents individual wishes and appropriate Risk Assessments. Liaise with Matron/Deputy regarding specific needs and report any changes to condition.
- To monitor and supervise residents nutritional and dietary requirements.
- To be responsible for the handling, storage, issue administration and disposal of all medicines on the night shift in line with documented procedures, and to maintain the necessary records.
- Set and maintain clinical standards of clinical practice in the home in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and researched based practice.
- Assist in maintaining stores at agreed levels and ensure that repair and replacements of equipment are brought to the attention of management,
- Maintain and provide accurate records, reports and statistical information as required.
