One of Badenoch and Clark's key clients is currently looking for an experienced Desktop Telecoms Technician for an initial period of 3 months.

This job encompasses both configuration changes to the desktop Telephony systems and also to manage incidents reported via the Service Desk. The areas of responsibility include liaising with 3rd parties and also the IM&T technical teams to ensure a timely problem resolution and working with the project office to deliver projects on time and within budget.

This job is to ensure the Telecoms systems are available in line with SLA's and to administer and manage any fault conditions to ensure any interruption to the services are minimised. A "Continuous Improvement" and "Root Cause" problems solving philosophy along with support of projects will ensure the Telecoms service is available within the SLA.

You will be responsible for ensuring both the running and maintenance of all telephony systems in a cost effective and professional manner. You will also be required to have knowledge of the following systems: Avaya and Mitel Solutions.

*Educated to GCSE grade C or above in maths and English
*Educated to degree level in Computing, Computer Science, Information Technology or Business Information Systems or equivalent experience or competencies.
*Recent experience in a relevant IT/Telecommunications role,
*Practical experience and knowledge of Telecommunications systems and applications, network configuration and Microsoft Office/email.
*Significant experience of customer care and of user support.
*Experience of supporting and administering a telecoms provision in a corporate/public sector environment.
*Supporting VOIP Telephony systems: Recent and relevant experience supporting VOIP Telephony systems, including deploying telephones, DHCP, VLAN and switch configuration
*A good technical understanding of Telephony systems, focusing in Avaya VOIP systems, and Nortel Option 11 and BCM systems.
*Good communication skills to deliver a technical message in an appropriate way and using appropriate language to suit the audience.
*Ensure the Telephony support is communicated to other technical teams so Telephony support is maintained out of normal hours by the on-call teams.
