Our electronics client, with brand new offices in Stirling, require Embedded Software Engineers to work on the development of medical devices that are going to revolutionize the healthcare sector globally. You will be developing Embedded software code for handheld IoT devices that will transform 'In Vitro Diagnostic testing' (ie tests done on samples such as blood or tissue to detect diseases or other conditions).
The latest development is a CV-19 testing device.
You will be working in the R&D team (consisting of Software Engineers, Electronics Engineers and Mechanical Engineers), but onsite in Stirling you have researchers and scientists that you will also work closely with.
The canteen area promotes conversation and team bonding across the business, as everyone onsite is working towards the same shared goal of revolutionizing the healthcare industry.
With high demand globally for the company's IoT connected devices, the company is investing heavily into research and development to satisfy their customer needs. As an Embedded Software Engineer this means working on new product developments, whilst also enhancing current devices with new and additional features.
In terms of skills needed for this role, you should be a confident Embedded C programmer who has experience with microcontrollers/microprocessors. Experience developing on RTOS or Bare Metal platforms would be desirable, as would experience working on low power/memory constrained products. For this role you don't have to have medical device experience, but any experience working in safety critical environments (automotive, aerospace, oil+gas) or following coding guidelines (they could be internal company guidelines) would be desirable but not essential.
Aside from being a confident Embedded C programmer you should have a 'can do' attitude, who is positive and will genuinely be driven by working on devices that will make a huge impact on the healthcare and wellbeing of individuals globally.
If you want to join a company that is off the ground from start-up stage, but still has a start-up feel, then this role will be well suited to you.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Embedded C development
- Microcontroller/Microprocessor experience
- A positive attitude and team player (who enjoys sharing ideas)
- Comfortable working to coding guidelines
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:
- RTOS or Bare Metal Embedded development
- ARM Cortex
- Low level peripheral driver experience (eg I2C, UART, SPI)
- MISRA
- Medical Device experience
