Have you been a nursery deputy manager or senior for a while and want to be able to make your mark, while continuing nursery manager training.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, cheerful deputy manager with lots of energy, creative ideas and drive to make their mark on our Billericay setting. Must have good communications skills, sound knowledge of EYFS and safeguarding, computer literate and a huge passion for childcare and a love of the outdoors. Must demonstrate competency and experience.
Working 7.30am-6.30pm 4 days a week plus sharing opening and closing.
Key Responsibilities of the nursery deputy manager
* Run the nursery one day per week.
* Ensure room staff deliver a range of activities for the children.
* In the unlikely event of senior staff absence, to work such hours to make sure that the setting is appropriately staffed, and legal requirements are met..
* Assist management of the provision of the nursery ensuring that children, parents and the staff team work together to provide high quality childcare and support the advocate programme
* To manage a staff team effectively.
* To agree with the setting manager nursery goals and monitor the achievement of progress against targets.
* To monitor and assess the quality of provision ensuring that policies and procedures, best practice and standards are maintained.
* To ensure that all paperwork relating to the children is completed and updated on our online systems such as health care plans, allergy plans, funding forms and register audits.
* To be responsible for the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring compliance with registration and legislative requirements at all times.
* To ensure that the nursery conforms to and exceeds the requirements of Ofsted.
* To uphold and ensure a high standard of care throughout the nursery.
* To ensure all staff follow policies and procedures.
* Review Ofsted Regulation Folders to prepare the nursery for Ofsted inspections and action any recommendations made by the inspector ensuring a minimum good grade is awarded.
* Updating monthly and termly audits and all compliance paperwork.
* Ensuring that additional roles and responsibilities, e.g. SENCO, ENCO, behaviour officer, Health & Safety Officer, Safeguarding Officer etc, are allocated amongst the team and suitably qualified staff members and that their roles are being actively carried out to a high standard.
* Review online learning journeys.
* To make recommendations for the future development and long term vision of the nursery.
* To ensure that the nursery is fully resourced with essential items.
* To travel to, prepare for, attend and contribute to Managers meetings.
* To be a key holder for the nursery.
* In the event of senior staff absence, working such hours to make sure that the setting is appropriately staffed and legal requirements covered.
* Following the marketing plan and ensuring all points are actioned.
* Through regular supervisions identify individual and nursery development needs ensuring these needs are met through appropriate training.
* To ensure that the physical environment of the nursery is maintained to comply with the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act.
* To ensure that a daily Health & Safety checks are carried out.
* Be aware of and comply with EHO and COSHH regulations.
* Ensure that all risk assessments are up to date, and fire drills are carried out on a regular basis and recorded accurately and promptly.
