PCB and Embedded Software Engineer

Our client are a progressive, forward thinking company looking for a PCB and Embedded Developer, with at least 3 years' hardware and embedded software design experience, to join the Engineering department in their Eastbourne office. You will support the company as they embark on a new stage of R&D to enhance and grow their current product range.

Reporting directly to the Lead Electronic Development Engineer you will:

Follow the entire electronic development lifecycle from initial concept to final product and testing
Have excellent diagnostic abilities
Carry out R&D projects on emergent technologies involving Bluetooth and Wireless integrated systems
Create and manage electronic hardware and software documentation
Work closely with the Mechanical Engineering teamEssential skills:

Embedded Software development
Produce PCB designs that consider thermal and EMC implications
Strong all-round electronic design and software/firmware skills
Able to control various types of motors
Experience with USB and Serial communication
Schematic and PCB layout experience
Fault finding at component level
Real time debugging of firmware
Prototyping skills
At least 3 years' hardware and embedded software design experience within a relevant industry
Measurement techniques of the following: - temperature, water level sensing, voltage, current
Experience with low power and sleep functions
BLE, IOT, WiFi and RFID development
Degree in Electronic engineering or similar subjectThe company is looking for: -

A capable PCB and Embedded Developer, but an all-round Electronics Engineering background will be an advantage
Someone who can quickly come up to speed with the company's niche products
You will be keen to drive innovation and be involved in R&D projects that will help the company continue to grow
