Product Verification and Test Engineer

This is an exciting time to join a growing innovative electronics and software company. Our client is an industry leader in Satellite communication technology delivering navigation and positioning test equipment and services to major manufacturers, integrators, test facilities, governmental agencies and space agencies worldwide.

They are currently looking for an Engineer to join their Product Verification team in Paignton. In this role you will be a member of the engineering team focusing on test and verification of both current and next generation positioning test solutions.

Responsibilities and description:

• Work alongside and understand the design teams operations including relevant technologies and NPI development processes.
• Review and assess testing methodologies for current product and provide support/advice into forthcoming new design test requirements.
• Take responsibility and ownership of both the test design, and execution of assigned software and/or hardware projects.
• Provide support to both core and Tailored Solution Product Qualification activities.
• Develop where appropriate automated test environments through the use of in-house tools and scripts.
• Ability to perform prototyping testing with persistance.
• Able to work overtime and over weekend if required.

Requirements:

• BA, BEng or HND in appropriate Engineering discipline
• Experience with LabVIEW and Test STAND for test automation
• Have proficient knowledge in the use of digital and RF test equipment, eg spectrum analysers, networks analysers, high speed oscilloscopes, power meter and multimeter.

Preferred requirements:

• MatLab programming language for system modelling and statistical data analysis.
• Experience with Python scribing for test automation.
• Skilled level of MS Office applications
• Intermediate mathematical skill.
• Knowledge of GNSS
