Heritage Facilities Manager

Since its purchase in 1541, fifteen generations of the Thynne family have called Longleat House their home and together they have amassed an incredible collection of fine art, a wealth of rare English, French and Italian furniture, European and Far Eastern ceramics and English silver as well as tens of thousands of historic documents, and seven libraries housing over 44,000 printed books.
What will this role of Heritage Facilities Manager entail?
Reporting to the Curator, as the Heritage Facilities Manager you will be responsible for providing day to day management of the facilities, maintenance and upkeep of Longleat House and associated historic buildings, ensuring that their special historic character is fully understood and protected by all working within them. Your duties will include, although not be limited to:
* Maintaining utilities and services across the House including water, electricity, gas, heating, telecommunications, internet provision and Wi-Fi
* Regularly reviewing the running of the buildings to ensure they operate in the most environmentally sustainable way
* Developing and implementing an active programme of condition monitoring and preventative maintenance for the fabric of Longleat House and associated buildings
* Managing an effective pest monitoring regime, ensuring all records are updated and dealing with any problems highlighted by this monitoring
* Managing all contractor access to the House, ensuring health and safety policies and other relevant policies and procedures are followed
* Ensuring facilities are in place for all company events within the House
* Working with the Curator to develop, implement and regularly review salvage plan for Longleat House and associated buildings housing the Longleat Collections
What will I need to be considered for this Heritage Facilities Manager vacancy?
* Hands on facilities management experience within a multi-functional venue
* Demonstrable understanding of the practical issues arising when maintaining a Grade 1 listed building and associated grounds
* Good understanding of historic buildings conservation procedures
* Excellent relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to manage employees and engage with a variety of audiences
* Strong organisational, problem solving and negotiation skills
What will I receive in return?
As the Heritage Facilities Manager, you'll receive a salary in the region of GBP22,000 to GBP27,000 with the level dependent on experience, in addition to a range of attractive benefits that include:
