Role & Responsibilities of the Head Chef:
* Lead all aspects of kitchen operations from kitchen safety through to delivery of quality dishes
* Identify innovation for food delivery to improve quality and speed of service
* Identify opportunities to improve incumbent processes
* Ensure all company food safety and health and safety practices are in place and being upheld
* Build and maintain effective relationships across the business and externally with suppliers and stakeholders
* Communicate, deliver and implement smooth menu/dish launches according to the specification manuals
* Identify new product opportunities that deliver innovation and on trend dishes combined with a financial upside to the business
* Maintain competitor awareness and communicate this to your peers as necessary
* Build a close and professional working relationship with the local authorities in terms of food safety and management whilst maintaining a 5 star scores on the doors rating expectation at all times
* Assist in delivering ongoing training for kitchen teams and ensuring that the team have every opportunity to learn, develop and progress providing appropriate and structure training in order that people are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their roles with confidence and progress in their careers
* Attend training courses/meetings when required
* Undertake such duties as may reasonably be required by the company Directors
* Work with the IT manager on technologies to improve food delivery such as Kitchen Management Systems and ensure the operations team are fully engaged on benefits and implementation of such systems.
* Work to improve energy efficiencies thus reducing costs and encouraging a greener carbon footprint for the company
About You as the Head Chef:
* Minimum of 2 years in a similar high volume business serving fresh food at a Senior Sous or Head Chef level
* Operations & people focused with a nurturing and motivational personality
* A real 'Foodie' who thrives on working with fresh innovative and classic ingredients alike
* A genuine passion of the hospitality industry and has a positive attitude with high levels of energy
* Excellent planning and organisational skills with a track record of delivering to time, quality and budget requirements
* Stakeholder Management
* Outstanding teamwork skills
* Ability to communicating effectively
* Sound business judgement and decision making.
* Excellent Leadership, Managing and Coaching skills
* Commits to challenging targets and usually excels against them.
* Flexibility - shows exceptional resilience and calmness and is able to deal with a wide range of accountabilities at any one time.
* Champions change and support others through change
