I am currently looking for a Systems Administrator to work part remote and part on site in North Wales. The role will offer a 3 month initial contract with the opportunity to go permanent for a salary of between GBP25,000 - GBP30,000 per annum.

You will be working on a busy IT Helpdesk supporting end users with desktop PCs, mobile phones, tablets and telephone systems. Visits to remote branch offices may be required from time to time. The role is challenging, requiring initiative to go beyond the technical aspects of IT and help the end user to achieve their own goal. The role also requires understanding not only of IT, but also the business as a whole. The role is exciting as the IT team expands and adopts the use of more technologies.

Main duties
  • Supporting Windows and Mac PCs and printers
  • Supporting Active Directory, Exchange, File Server and DNS.
  • Maintenance of Microsoft Technologies, Back-up, Disaster Recovery, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, telecommunications, Firewalls and DNS
  • Supporting end users with business tasks by helping them create files and solve issues
  • Helping to solve mobile phone and tablet issues
  • Answering telephone calls, emails and support tickets on the first line of support
  • Supporting server administration by applying updates, configuring hardware and maintaining the wired network infrastructure
  • Helping advise end users with best practice and ways in which common office applications can be used to assist their workflow
  • Assisting end users with security advice
  • Computer and hardware maintenance
  • Designing processes and policies that improve IT systems
  • Helping IT to deliver the end result, be that in hardware, software or any other project in which they may be involved
  • Research new technologies and applications to identify ways in which they can benefit the company as a whole
  • Trial new technologies and devices in preparation of deployment
  • Assist with franchise IT issues
  • Assist with resolution of technical faults
  • Carry out any other duties that may be considered relevant to the position within the terms of your contract of employment.

Qualifications

Eligibility to work in the UK

IT qualification - MCSA/MCSA/CISCO CCNA

4-5 years' experience of hands-on Windows System Administration experience

Strong working knowledge of routing, VPN, networking and subnets

Software and OS installation

Windows troubleshooting

Windows server maintenance

VMWare

Microsoft Exchange or SQL Server

Microsoft Azure

Salesforce

Linux

Avaya Phone systems

Customer service experience

Helpdesk support

Mobile MDM support
