Overall Job Purpose
To work with Skillnet learners working towards level 2/3 apprenticeship frameworks in the following areas:
Technical
- Heavy Vehicle

- Warehousing

- Sales
- Body & Paint
- Parts
There will also be a requirement to develop and create further opportunities within all Skillnet programmes.
The delivery will have a blend of both knowledge and competence (through VRQ, VCQ and Standards) using a wide range of learning materials to encompass and enhance various learning styles. Lessons are to meet the standards of curriculums and satisfy internal and external requirements.
This is an exciting opportunity which will benefit a person with good organisation skills and forward thinking to develop Teaching and Learning guides, leaner's notes, lesson plans and schemes of work to meet the national occupational standards. An essential part of this role is providing professional VCQ/competence monitoring, assessment and feedback where you will be required to assess competency and knowledge of apprentices against the standards and progress and achieve apprentices in a timely manner
Key tasks and accountabilities
- Recruitment of new learners
- Conduct work place induction for all new learners as details in current procedures
- Visits learners at work place, carry out workplace reviews and assessments, gather evidence, assess progress, observe work practices and update leaner records in accordance with current procedures
- Complete reviews for each learners in accordance with current procedures
- Advise an counsel learners as necessary regarding training, welfare and discipline
- Carry our Health and Safety monitoring and vetting of employers to ensure adequate facilities , insurance and statutory Health and Safety requirements
- Contribute to monthly meetings
- To monitor frequency, content and consistency of reviews and assessment throughout multiple site contracts
- Liaison with Regional Skills Manager to ensure co-ordination between on the job and off the job training
- Liaison with employers
- Conduct work place induction for all new learners as detailed in current procedures

- Offer information Advice and Guidance as necessary regarding training, welfare and discipline
- Provide Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) to learners.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- D Or A Units Assessor
- GCSE in English, Maths and IT or equivalent
- Functional Skills level 2 or above in Maths, English and ICT
- Confident and adept dealing with learners, parents, employers and awarding bodies
- A working knowledge of Awarding Body requirements
- Customer focuses to understand customer views, needs and objectives
- Commercial and business awareness- to appoint suppliers who provide Skillnet with competitive pricing and achieve economies of scale where possible
- Performance and results - to ensure consistency of assessment process and coordination of on the job training and off the job training
- Provide information to managers external bodies as required
- To contribute and work as part of a team
- To be able to communicate at all levels
- To use learning, best practice and pas experience to the benefit of all our activities
