Here at Parker Tools, we have an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated Purchasing & Trade Counter Assistant to join our team at our Canterbury site. You will be working on a full time, permanent basis (08.30am - 17.30pm with ?? hour lunch) and in return, you will receive a salary of GBP18,000 - GBP21,000 per annum.

The Purchasing & Trade Counter Assistant role:

To assist with the daily purchasing functions of the ParkerTools Division and provide cover for the trade counter.

The responsibilities as our Purchasing & Trade Counter Assistant role include:

You will cover a wide range of tasks so you will be expected to be flexible and take on duties outside those listed.

Purchasing
- To deal with enquiries for special products - sourcing and placing orders.
- To liaise with suppliers and ensure prices on daily ordering are negotiated.
- To ensure that pricing is correct on the AS400 at all times.
- Confirmation of orders are chased and confirmed with in time frame.
- To assist in keeping Nil stocks to a minimum and ensure that a free flow of information regarding these is communicated to sales.
- To report information received from suppliers that may affect customer satisfaction.
- Progressing of orders and maintaining due dates, and report any delays which hinder

Performance
- Dealing with supplier returns, sorting them out with in the time frame.
- Administration functions (i.e test certs) are completed and updated in timely manner.
- Company policy and procedures are being adhered to.

Trade Counter
- To support the trade counter - covering lunch breaks/holidays/sickness.
- To serve customers quickly and efficiently on the trade counter, ensuring steel collections, and orders are completed accurately.
- Update any customer orders to ensure collection dates are accurate.
- Processing customers orders and ensuring cash is handled accurately.
- Completing daily till reports, ensuring the float and safe change are correct.
- Ensure replenishment of stock lines is completed fully and accurately each day.
- Stock is controlled and accurate with daily cycle counts carried out.

Performance Indicators
- Meet target for internal customer satisfaction rating.
- Enquiry turnaround time achieved
- Product cost prices updated and maintained
- Supplier Confirmations checked and actioned
- Supplier returns dealt within time frames
- Ensure trade counter customers are dealt with quickly and efficiently
- Zero till discrepancies
- Stock discrepancies

Cover for the trade counter will be as required, covering any breaks, holidays or unplanned absence during which time contracted hours will be 7am - 5pm (Mon-Fri). Excess hours worked will be paid as overtime.
