On Line People are proud to work in partnership with our client who are looking to add an experienced Technical Assistant to their friendly, hard working team on a full-time, permanent basis.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the main responsibilities of the role will be to ensure the information required for product launch is available and on time as and when required. Also assist in day to day tasks as requested by Technical Manager or Assistant Technical Manager.
Other responsibilities will include:
To communicate with Sales department and labelling department regarding new products
Submit artwork for approval as and when needed
Check and approve new products specifications
Enter specification data onto the company Visma system as required
To summarize product development as required
Identify and report any issues relating to existing or new products
Completion of customer documentation (specifications, questionnaires, packaging information) as required
Assist the Technical Manager or Assistance Technical Manager in the general day to day tasks
Covering for QC in their absence that include the below:
Inspection of products to ensure conformity to specification. Relaying results to relevant personnel.
Daily monitoring of Good Manufacturing Practices and reporting of any non-conformances to relevant personnel
Assisting in the recording, investigating and responses to customer complaints and take appropriate actions
Carrying out inductions for the new starters
Upkeep of the Customer complaints database, including the preparation of trending graphs/summary
Send out microbiological & nutritional samples, as required, and monitor results.
Collation, review and storage of Factory Process Documentation as required.
Upkeep of Approved Supplier Database, ensuring all approval documentation is kept up to date and available for inspection.
Reporting of non-conformances to suppliers
Assist in carrying out traceability exercises
Assist in any 3rd Party Accreditation Audits (e.g. BRC, Organic, Fairtrade Foundation).
Covering for Label designer where trained
Essential skills and knowledge:
Knowledge of current Food Safety, Food Labelling and other relevant legislation
IT Skills -excel, word and sharepoint,
Desirable skills
Label software experience
Visma
Experience customer specification portals
Experience of Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance and Organic labelling
The client is based in the Brigg area. This is a full-time, permanent position working Mon-Fri 7am-4pm and offers a salary of GBP23,000 - GBP26,000 per annum, dependant on experience.
