In these extraordinary times of the coronavirus outbreak telent is continuing to Recruit. We provide services to customers which are integral to providing mission critical systems and infrastructure across the UK and Ireland and we need to continue to deliver those services.

To help limit the amount of face to face contact during the recruitment process, we will now do more online assessments and use Skype/Conf Calls for interviews wherever possible.

With current annual revenues in excess of GBP400M and 2,400 employees. We operate within various industry sectors including Rail, Traffic, Public Safety, Defence, Service Providers, Enterprise and Public Sector.

Role Profile:

We're looking for a pragmatic, proactive and approachable person to join our Cyber team within our Chief Technology Office as our Data Protection Manager.

Typical Deliverables:

You'll be in charge of managing our data protection compliance framework, which will require you to:

Advise and support our business to identify data protection issues throughout the bid and project life cycle, ensuring that necessary steps such as data privacy impact assessments are carried out where appropriate
Migrate our existing compliance controls and develop a suitable privacy management system aligned with ISO/IEC27701, which you will own, manage and develop as our business grows
Maintain all documentation required under data protection laws, for example records of processing activity, privacy notices and records of personal data breaches
Monitor data protection compliance, carrying out regular audits to identify issues and recommend and implement solutions
Respond to data subject requests, such as checking the validity of data subject access requests and that they are actioned appropriately
Design and implement effective awareness campaigns
When the COVID-19 restrictions lessen, you'll be required to regularly attend our Warwick office (and occasionally our other offices across the UK). We anticipate this being required 1-2 days per week but will depend on business demand.
You will need to be comfortable working under minimal supervision, but with the support of a friendly team when you need it.

Business Operations Skills - Experience:

2+ years of proven experience working in a data protection role.
A can do attitude, with an eagerness to learn and develop.
Collaborative, able to establish and grow relationships across the business.
Clear and concise communicator, capable of explaining issues in plain English.
Organised, able to prioritise and manage time effectively.
Embraces change and is creative in finding solutions.
Attention to detail.
Comfortable working under minimal supervision.

Business Operations Skills - Qualifications:

A relevant data protection qualification.
Experience of working with ISO standards (in particular ISO/IEC 27701, BS 10012).
