Buyer - Barnsley - GBP24,000-GBP27,000 + CIPS study support
Chase & Holland are proud to be supporting a hugely successful business in Barnsley who are looking to recruit a Buyer to join their team on a full-time permanent basis.
This role will see you working in a fast-paced environment and you will be involved in the development, motivation and mentorship of the Assistant Buyers.
Buyer Responsibilities:
* Reviewing requisitions, sourcing, negotiating and placing orders in support of business requirements in accordance with business and operating procedures
* Support the Supply Chain Manager/Senior Buyer in the successful delivery of Frameworks, Trading Agreements and Cost Saving Initiatives
* Conducting and reporting of key supplier meetings
* Driving Assistant Buyer participation with regards to amendments and invoice queries
* Challenge bad practice and ensure compliance from the teams
* Review, authorise and commit orders in line with delegated levels of authority and subject to appropriate checks
* Data Analysis, effective recording and reporting as and when required
* Attend Sites/Offices/Depots when required
* Monitor and report on supplier performance
* Review and process Q&O orders
* Provide support on subcontract orders/vendor assessments
Key Requirements and Preferences:
* Good communication and computer skills
* Strong negotiation skills and proven purchasing
* The ability to think and act proactively
* Positive attitude, motivated and flexible
* Ability to develop delegation skills
* Effective professional, motivation, co-ordinating and organisational skills
Hours of Work
8am - 4:30pm (Mon to Thur) 8am - 3:30pm (Fri) 30 min lunch
