Assistant Buyer - Barnsley - GBP18,000-GBP23,000 + CIPS study support
Chase & Holland are proud to be supporting a hugely successful business in Barnsley who are looking to recruit an Assistant Buyer to join their team on a full time permanent basis.
Working within an established team, this role will offer you the support and development to have a career in purchasing.
Assistant Buyer Responsibilities:
* Reviewing requisitions, sourcing materials, negotiation and placement of orders in line with business and operating procedures and to time and cost
* Negotiating to produce discounts with suppliers
* Completion of invoice queries and order amendments in a timely fashion
* Accurate recording, maintaining and updating of key information including but not limited to; waste saving reports, everyday savings and mitigated losses, Procurement Information Bulletin, weekly issues
* Ensuring compliance with all processes and protocols within your job remit
* Administrating of Subcontract orders/Vendor Assessments and Insurances
* Review and process Q&O Orders.
Key Requirements and Preferences:
* Good communication and computer skills are essential to the role
* Strong negotiation skills and proven purchasing experience
* The ability to think and act proactively
* Positive attitude, motivation and flexibility
* Good observation and communication skills
Hours of Work
8am - 4:30pm (Mon to Thur) 8am - 3:30pm (Fri) 30 min lunch
