Clinical Lead Nurse
Salary: Up to GBP59,000 per year (DOE)
About The Role
A fantastic opportunity is available for a suitably-qualified and experienced RMN to join a well-established mental health hospital on the North London/Herts border in the capacity of Clinical Lead Nurse. This Clinical Lead Nurse role is a permanent, full time position.
Our client specialises in providing the highest quality of service to people with mental health problems, and this particular hospital service has 31 in-patient beds, designated High Dependency/restricted access rehabilitation, providing care and treatment for the full spectrum of mental health illness with all patients being funded by the NHS.
Responsibilities
The primary duties of the Clinical Lead Nurse include:
* To facilitate effective patient referrals and ensure that with reports are prepared to a high standard and within set time limits. On admission, to ensure all necessary documentation is available
* To ensure all social and health needs of patients are assessed and maintained, and risks evaluated.
* To act as primary nurse to designated patents
* To report any ill-health amongst patents and make requests for the professional medical visits where necessary
* To administer prescribed medicines and maintain records as per guidelines
* To investigate and respond to all complaints and serious incidents liaising with external agencies, families and patients in conjunction with the Registered Manager and to produce outcome reports.
* To liaise with the Mental Health Act Administrator regarding status of detained patients
* To liaise with the CPA Coordinator to ensure the CPA process and timescales are adhered to and reports are of the highest quality prior to dissemination
* To take responsibility for line management supervision, appraisals, sickness & absence reviews and to produce performance management frameworks for designated nurses & other staff members
* To ensure duty rotas are produced within set time limits and that all bank and overtime rotas are exhausted prior to using any agency staff
* To effectively co-ordinate, manage and run the operations of the hospital, providing clear guidance and support to the qualified nursing and support team while engaging and working with the wider hospital MDT
* To attend meetings and forums, representing the hospital at various levels
* To develop and maintain positive relationships with external agencies that have contact with Cornerstone House
* To be 'on-call' for emergencies which may arise within the hospital and to cover shifts if all other avenues have been exhausted
* To effectively manage the activities and operations of the hospital within company budgeting frameworks, policies, procedures and within a set budget
Requirements
The successful candidate for this Clinical Lead Nurse role will appreciate the need to work flexibly and creatively. You must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be committed to a patient-centred ethos.
In addition, the following key skills and experience are essential.
