We are currently recruiting a key role for a time-served Electrician looking to join a leading manufacturer and supplier of concrete and aggregate products. You will be working within the engineering team at our Leighton Buzzard site.

About the role

You will form part of the production and engineering team covering the site manufacturing operations. Your day to day responsibilities will include the planned and reactive maintenance of fully automated and electrically driven machinery such as hydraulics, pneumatics, motors and robotics. The role will also involve root-cause PLC fault- finding, repair and some programming.

Elements to the role include:

* Your day-to-day responsibilities will include both planned and reactive maintenance of fully-automated and electrically-driven machinery such as hydraulics, pneumatics and motors

* Carry out root-cause PLC fault-finding, repairs and some programming

* Undertaking electrical work in accordance with UK legislation and Aggregate Industries' standards, using safe working procedures

* Complete fault-finding, process improvements and energy reduction, whilst maintaining all diagrams, circuit schedules and other information

* Maintain all PLC-controlled equipment, including program modifications to suit production needs, and safety-related control systems for machinery

* Ensure all PPM schedules are carried out in a timely manner

* Mentoring of apprentices

What will you bring?

* PLC experience, together with fault-finding and programming

* Ability to work on a rotating three shift basis (06:00 - 14:15, 14:00 - 22:15, 22:00 - 06:15) Monday to Friday

* 18th Edition wiring regulations City & Guild 2382 qualified

* Robot experience, fault finding and programming

* Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relations with others

* Completed mechanical & electrical apprenticeship or equivalent and be qualified NVQ L3 or equivalent in plant maintenance

* IT-literacy
