HMI Software Developer

We are looking for a HMI Software Developer to join our team for one of our multinational power project at Staffordshire, UK.

Job summary:

Develop HMI Software solution for HVDC power transmission system using COTS, SCADA. Build HMI configuration and libraries in an object oriented way in-line with the project requirement proposed by customer.

Responsibilities:

• Understand the project requirements and engineer/configure COTS SCADA to fulfil the functions required.
• Design, develop and test the interfaces required between the SCADA and data concentrator systems.
• Develop generic libraries using COTS SCADA based development environment to be used by external applications.
• Assist with the design, development and testing of external applications built on top of the SCADA libraries.
• Work collaboratively within well-established teams of Engineers / Developers on a mixture of existing and new projects

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years' experience in SCADA engineering and development
• SCADA development experience using commercial SCADA packages (ideally Codra Panorama).
• Object Orientated Programming experience with a good knowledge of software architecture (ideally C# .net)
• Experienced in validating communication interfaces and its HMI mimics, based on the engineered SCADA configurations.
• Knowledge on HVDC transmission system and different controls involved in the system will be an advantage.
• Demonstrate leadership and training skills, to be part of a team and mentor others in the team on assigned tasks.
• Strong communication skills. Experience in generating and delivering customer-facing technical documents & presentations.
