We are currently recruiting for a number Maintenance Engineering Technician to be based on a Double Day Shift at our site in Debden, Near Chigwell. The role will be offered on a 2 year Fixed Term Contract. The Maintenance Engineer will support the facilities maintenance to include; compressed air/vacuum systems and plant facilities to a high standard. Work on electrical installations and general building maintenance activities as required. The shift patterns are as follows;
Early Shift: 6.30 am - 2.00 pm Mon-Fri.
Late Shift: 1.45 pm - 9.15 pm Mon-Fri.
Key Responsibilities are as follows;- To carry out maintenance schedules and reactive actions in order to maximise equipment uptime/performance.
- To respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns and report findings and solutions.
- To assume ownership and responsibility of assigned equipment.
- Carry out problem solving and advise on plant improvements to increase efficiency, reduce downtime and/or improve safety.
- To engage and support the Asset Care model for all assigned equipment.
- To maintain a high standard of workmanship, housekeeping and work in a safe way complying with site safety procedures at all times.
- To undertake projects which require mechanical/electrical and building maintenance skills and strive for continuous improvement.
- Use maintenance management software to update progress daily.
- Support operations in a professional manner to ensure all business targets are met.
- To review/analyse data to identify areas of improvement.
- To promote team working with the emphasis on a customer support ethic and a continuous improvement culture.
- To provide support and advice on potential operational and performance improvements including, training and documentation.
- Manage contractors whilst on-site to ensure site safety and security standards are delivered.
- To provide support to production teams in problem solving activities.
- Be flexible in terms of hours and shifts to maintain continuity of production.
- To maintain a high standard of workmanship, work safely, and comply with current Health, Safety & Environmental legislation at all times.
- To undertake projects within the scope of production and support services and suggest/support continuous improvements to proactively support the Engineering/Maintenance regime.
- Work within security procedures adhering to company security policies.
- Comply with DLR Change Management processes.
- Participate in performance development review meetings, engaging in a constructive discussion.
- To undertake additional training as determined through PDR process or by training manager.
- Use record keeping tools to ensure equipment defect history is maintained.
- Recognised apprenticeship to achieve level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent
- Experience working within a production environment is highly desirable.
- Experience with pumps, pressure vessels, compressors and general plant essential.
- Multi Skilled Maintenance with either Mechanical or Electrical bias
- Knowledge in continuous improvement techniques, 5S, SMED, Lean and Six Sigma an advantage.
- IT Literate, fully conversant with MS Office
- Hydraulics and pnuematic experience as well as welding and pipe fitting skills would be highly desirable...... click apply for full job details
