Due to expansion a superb opportunity has arisen for a Category Manager for an FMCG company based in Sheffield. Ideally the Category Manager will demonstrate creation and implementation of Category strategy, to include the delivery of Category plans to ensure that financial targets are met and create promotional plans including volume forecasts.
Main responsibilities
* Developing category strategies for multiple product categories, using research, analysis of retailer epos data and market insights to enhance the overall performance of the category.
* Leading a product team to develop range plans and new product lines, taking them to market at the right pricing point via the right channels.
* Extensive competitor analysis, understanding competitor pricing structures, offers and promotions as well as new products.
* Working alongside Technical & Sourcing Manager to source quality products at the right prices from reliable and sustainable suppliers.
* Negotiating the best prices and accurately forecasting the correct quantities of stock to purchase and hold. Developing exit strategies for unsuccessful product lines.
* Adapting to and responding to change in consumer demands and responding accordingly.
The ideal candidate
* You will be a proven Category Manager, Buyer or Range Manager with experience in FMCG or the Wholesale sector
* A proven track record within category management, range planning, data interrogation and analysis.
* You will have the ability to confidently demonstrate tenacity, determination, and assertiveness in pursuit of a commercially successful outcome.
* You will be a problem solver, numerate and build relationships internally and externally using effective negotiating and influencing skills.
