Relief Community Learning Tutor
GBP13.21 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)
Hours are offered on an as and when required basis
A shift allowance will be paid for unsocial hours worked where appropriate
We are particularly interested to hear from applicants in the outer isles.
We are looking to recruit experienced sessional tutors willing to offer non-certificated courses in community settings all around Orkney, to further complement our current Community Learning provision. We are looking for innovative and creative tutors who can inspire and motivate a diverse range of learners.
Candidates must have a high level of expertise in their chosen field and an in-depth knowledge of the subject they wish to offer to teach. Experience of teaching and relevant qualifications in the subject matter are desirable. Applicants must be available to deliver community-based provision at times to suit learner needs, which may include daytime, evening or weekend classes.
We help deliver a variety of non-certificated courses, so if you are keen to pass on your skills, we are keen to recruit you to lead new classes and courses for our 2018 programmes.
Where the post requires you to undertake tutoring specifically aimed at young people under the age of 18 you will be required to gain membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
