Rural Estate & Property Assistant Manager GBP28k (Pro rata)

Part time role 3-4 days per week with possibility to increase to full time. (4 days GBP22400pa) (3 days GBP16800pa)

Summary:

The Assistant Manager will support the Owner Manager in the maintenance and development of the Estate property and farming portfolio. The main purpose of the role is to better organise the existing micro enterprises and assist in the development of new ventures with a focus on growing the estate's profitability.

This role is best suited to a person passionate about the countryside and interested in the potential of rural businesses with an entrepreneurial, can-do attitude. It is a lifestyle job. You should be comfortable supervising workers, planning, coordinating and directing their activities.

Key duties:

Preparing property repairs schedule, selecting competitive quotes, briefing contractors and checking work
Coordinating farm, forestry and grounds maintenance with estate team and farming partner
Assisting with the operation of food pressing unit and development of products. Ensuring operations and practices meet health, safety, and environmental standards and regulations
Assisting owner/manager with project management of building conversion projects
Skills / qualifications:

Required

Educated to A-Level or equivalent
Full clean driving licence and own car
Good written and spoken English
Management experience, preferably in building or agricultural sector
Basic computer skills inc. Office 365.
Preferred

Project management skills and/or qualification
Health and safety training
First aid qualification
Engineering knowlegde
Contract, Salary & Benefits:

3 to 4 days per week (possibly rising to full time)
Circa GBP28k pro rata
Small plot of land for rearing livestock/ keeping horses (tbc)
Possible discounted rent on two-bedroom village cottage
