Role Responsibilities
?? Preparing the ground for construction work.
?? Effective management of small plant and tools.
?? Mandatory participation in various working groups for continued improvement and safety.
?? Assisting with the excavation and reinstatement of any surface.
?? Laying tarmac and flexible surfacing in footways
?? Laying concrete
?? The excavation of trial holes by hand.
?? The excavation of hard materials, hand shovelling and sweeping.
?? Use of cable avoidance tools when excavating
?? Excavation and laying of service ducts.
?? Site clearance.
?? The removal of undergrowth and scrub by hand, sweeping and shovelling.
?? To assist with the unloading/loading of materials.
?? To work in a safe and effective manner to achieve optimum output and to the required quality.
?? Helping to set out areas to be dug for foundations
?? Preparing materials
?? Digging shallow trenches manually, and trimming and squaring up trenches dug by machine.
?? Erecting and dismantling timbering used to support trenches
?? Laying and backfilling trenches
?? Erecting and taking down formwork
?? Pouring concrete for foundations
?? Putting up safety signs, barriers and site huts.
?? Setting up and dismantling access equipment
?? Transporting, stacking and removing tools, equipment and materials.
?? Road and pavement construction.
