You'll manage our grounds maintenance contractors where you'll be accountable for monitoring and driving contractor performance to our agreed standards and resolving issues or disputes arising from our contractual works in order to deliver on our brilliant customer promise.

In addition to contract management, you'll provide leadership to our in house grounds maintenance teams across the country. In the future, the role may also take on responsibility for management of additional external contractors providing a variety of different services. You'll have an eye on continuous improvement across the Planned and Cyclical strand of our Maintenance function. Finding creative solutions and managing change are at the heart of what you do, and you enable services to rapidly improve, bringing people with you on the journey.

About our team

You'll be working as part of our fabulous team who are super passionate about delivering a first-class maintenance solution to our customers. Our Head of Maintenance, Jonny has worked here at Home Group for 2 years now, having worked in the property sector for the past 9 years. Outside of work Jonny enjoys a hectic social life and when not out on his bike is planning his next holiday destination.

You will have the support of a fantastic management team Neil, Paul D, Paul G and Steve who are passionate about getting it right for the customer as well as setting and smashing targets. We like a challenge; we hope you do too!

Where and when you'll work

This is a national role; you can be based anywhere in the UK and will be home based or from one of our local hub offices (when we decide to move back to office working.) In the first 3-6 months you will support with 5 new contract mobilisations based in the South of England; as well as travelling to our other national regions periodically, there will be substantial travel in this role.

It's the team's unwritten rule that you attend the important appointments in life, be it your child's school play, your partner's graduation, or to get your new fridge delivered. You can elect to fit these around your working day or use your flexi to take the time off. Our focus is on getting the job done, not your working hours!

About you

As an experienced Maintenance and Contract Manager you'll be responsible for ensuring the team delivers an exceptional and effective customer focussed maintenance service.

Customers are at the heart of all you do, and you'll use your customer insight to develop new and improved services appropriate to the customer's needs. You'll have excellent inter-personal and organisational skills to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.

Here at Home Group we have invested heavily in our future and use current and up to date equipment. You'll be issued with the latest kit, which could include a Surface Pro and mobile. So, it's really important to us that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)
