Responsible for ensuring that the trust are fully prepared to respond to the challenges posed by welfare reform by providing a comprehensive and up to date benefits advice service, promoting financial and digital inclusion, improving opportunity for employment, education and training and promoting the environmental agenda. To improve the prospects of customers by ensuring they are socially included and best prepared for the future.

Job description;

Financial

* To ensure income maximisation for our customers through the take up of benefit and general debt advice.

* To improve the financial confidence of our customers including budgeting and money management skills.

* To provide a comprehensive welfare benefits and general financial support service to customers.

* To lead on financial inclusion campaigns and the development of appropriate financial services.

* To provide information, training and support to customer facing staff on financial inclusion.

* To liaise and develop effective relationships with partners and other agencies that are concerned with financial inclusion including credit unions, debt advice and food banks.

* Make referrals to other organisations to ensure the customer is fully supported, including to debt advice agencies and employment support agencies;

* Support Universal Credit claimants, including assistance in making new claims, updating existing claims, and supporting claimants to self-serve.

Income collection

* To maximise rent collection by having frank discussions with current tenants and making repayment arrangements.

* To pursue former tenant debts and where necessary recommend debts for write off.

* To ensure any debts that accrue as a result of a recharge are repaid or referred to the debt collection agency.

Digital inclusion;

* To increase customers access to digital services

* To improve the digital confidence of customers

* With digital inclusion campaigns and the development of digital services.

Employment, education and training;

* To promote opportunities for employment, education and training for our customers;

* To promote comprehensive employment advice services to customers;

* To lead on employment, education and training campaigns and the development of appropriate services;

* To liaise and develop effective relationships with partners and other agencies that are concerned with employment, education and training including Job Centre Plus, ETHOS and WEA.

Environmental;

* To provide basic energy advice to help combat fuel poverty;

* To lead on energy efficiency campaigns and the development of appropriate services;

* To liaise and develop effective relationships with partners and other agencies that are concerned with energy efficiency.

Additional Information:

* Based in Epsom

* GBP31,500 + GBP1,200 Bonus

* 35 hour week

* 25 days holiday
