JZ Flowers is a well-established FMCG manufacturer who are looking to expand their team due to a recent acquisition meaning they require an experienced Import Coordinator to manage their shipping processes.
The successful candidates' primary purpose will be to continue to provide exceptional service to their customers. Responding to quote requests, completing all associated documents, and updating relevant systems and processes in a timely manner ensuring efficiency and accuracy. The Import Coordinator shall also be responsible for completing all the associated documentation and updating all the relevant systems and processes.
The successful Import Coordinator will be responsible for the following:
Primary functions
* Negotiating rates with suppliers and customer
* Respond to quote requests and bookings from customers (both internal and external).
* Ability to produce Original Documentation to complete both Import and Export of cargo i.e. Letter of Credit, Original Bill of Landing, GSP, Certificate of Origin, EUR1, ATR etc.
* Follow consignments through and ensure customers are kept up to date, liaising with shipper, consignee or nominated contact.
* Capture all cost and revenue in the said system and respond to related queries
* Ensure all systems and filing are up to date.
* Adhere to appropriate standard operating procedures.
* Understand how Carriers (both Air & Sea) work
* Understand free time and storage
* Understand and work with Incoterms
* Ability to provide booking and shipping instructions
* Arranging charges or collection of payment on behalf of customers.
* Identifying additional business needs with customers.
Knowledge and skills
Essential skills:
* Customs Knowledge and ability to complete a Customs Import/Export declaration
* Customer focussed, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Team player - always willing to help and support others to make sure our customers' needs are always met.
* Strong organisation skills, ability to prioritise workloads.
* Strong desire to continuously improve systems and processes.
* Commercial awareness. Proactive and "can do" attitude.
* Able to and comfortable negotiating with both customers and suppliers to win business and secure the best deals.
Desirable skills
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in Freight Forwarding with all round knowledge of Air and Sea Freight for both Imports & Exports.
* Relevant knowledge of current legislation.
