Senior Draughtperson
About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a SENIOR DRAUGHTSPERSON to join our Power Transmission & Distribution business based in Derby.
Role Purpose:
Liaise with the Section Leader/Principle Draughtsperson to complete allocated projects in accordance with programme, quality requirements and cost.
What you'll be doing
On a day to day basis you will be responsible for:
* Provide Civil Engineering support to develop New Build and Existing Sites
* Control of and reporting on all work allocated by the Section Leader/Principle Draughtsperson, including the control of the programme and the day to day management of the Team members
* Organise, supervise and monitor the progress of allocated Projects
* Ensure that all members of the drawing project team are aware of what is required of them and that the information provided to them is correct and up to date
* Direct participation in the work associated with enquiries and contracts and responsibilities for the maintenance of technical excellence
* Arrange preparation of all necessary drawings and documents for a project within defined area of responsibility
* Prepare contract start up information if so directed or supplement the existing material if inadequate
* Liaise as necessary with the designer and/or draughtsperson to obtain the most suitable interpretation of design requirements
* Arrange the checking of all drawings, PSDs, material lists, calculations and other documents with area of responsibility to ensure that satisfactory standards are maintained. Ensure that all drawings and documents have signatures present as specified in the procedure
* Participate in the development of all software packages, and in particular, the introduction of new facilities and their use by other members of the Drawing Office
* Understand, maintain and apply Divisional QA policy and procedures in line with the requirements of ISO9001:2000 and to ensure that corrective and preventive action in respect of products, services and the quality system are effective
Who we're looking for
You will have the following qualities and experience:
* Experience working in a Civil Engineering environment
* ONC/HNC or equivalent in a Civil Engineering discipline
* Must be proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D latest versions
* Earthworks Detailing Experience
* Roads Detailing Experience
* Drainage Detailing Experience
* Ability to leverage Civil 3D design tools and surfaces to automate Profile and Cross Section creation, estimate Earthwork Quantities and Corridor Grading (Cut and Fill)
* Knowledge of Reinforced Concrete and preparation of Bar Bending Schedules.
Desirable:
* Preparation of General Arrangement and Detail Fabrication Drawings with MOS for Steel Structures
* Building Detailing Experience
* Experience in Substation/Power Transmission and Distribution
* Experience using Autodesk Navisworks software
* Experience using Autodesk Revit software
* Experience using Bentley software (Microsation, MX).
