Lead Cloud Engineer
Location: Nottingham (Fully remote currently, 4 days a week remote post-COVID)
Salary: Up to GBP90,000 with 15-20% bonus
It's no secret that senior Cloud / DevOps / Platform Engineers are highly valued right now, but how do you know if a particular role is right for you?
This is an opportunity for someone who means business, an engineer who has worked their butt off to get to the top and is ready to step into a position of senior leadership and responsibility.
You won't be alone in this task, you'll work alongside an architect, another platform lead and a small team of senior engineers, helping the more junior members of your team to become as talented and passionate about cloud tech as you are.
But why would you join this company in particular?
Well, apart from amazing benefits, a potentially six-figure package, and a level of support, progression, and development that is basically unmatched by all others in their market, they can offer you the one thing that really counts: the chance to create something truly unique!
With a brand that extends across the globe, it would be fair to say that this is the company that provides the FinTech solutions that power everything else when it comes to FinTech. They create solutions that power the way the entire western world views finance.
You'll be responsible for the technical elements of the architectural roadmap, making sure the end product fits the spec that the architectural team set out. Working closely alongside your fellow engineers on daily sprint work, you'll set the standard of quality that they should all be following.
Although you'd be almost exclusively working with AWS, they're a multi-cloud organisation so you would potentially get some exposure to Azure, GCP and perhaps Alibaba along the way. Alongside your skills with AWS, you'll ideally be quite confident working hands-on with Terraform and Python.
At this level you'll also be expected to have some knowledge of cloud architecture and the wider business aims, enabling you to work closely alongside the architect embedded within your team.
They're a big organisation, and this is a big position, so this may not be the best place for people who want to shy away or hide in the corner. You don't have to be the life of the party, but if you're comfortable in your own skin and don't mind mucking in and explaining things to stakeholders from time to time, you'll be just fine.
There's no ridiculously long list of requirements in order to ensure you're successful, and I'm happy to have a chat about the finer details (I've rambled on already???)
If you'd like to know more, pop your CV over and let's have a chat. It'd be nice to hear from you
