The EH20 Group has an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a busy Commercial Team at one of the UK's leading house builders based in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to work alongside an experienced Quantity Surveyor managing large scale developments.
This challenging role offers a dynamic and driven individual to develop their skills and career within a multinational house builder.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparation and issue of tender documentation from design information and specifications.
* Analysis, evaluation and negotiation of tenders from sub contractors for new developments to ensure best value.
* Collate and prepare contract documentation and orders for issue.
* Preparation and presentation of detailed project budgets.
* Management of sub contractor accounts to ensure payments are processed to strict deadlines.
* Manage commercial aspect of social housing contracts including liaising with employer's agents.
* Cost and manage customer variations in liaison with the sales department.
* Reconciliation of costs and reporting of bi-monthly cost reports to the Senior Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Manager and Regional Board.
* Liaise with other departments including site based staff in the efficient running of the construction activities.
* Ensure compliance with company's the health, safety and environmental policies.
* To undertake any reasonable duties relating to the activities of the department as requested by the Commercial Manager.
Qualifications/Experience
* The successful candidate must have a degree in a construction related subject.
* The successful candidate must have at least 2 years experience in a house building environment.
* Must be highly motivated to succeed and have a desire to learn.
* You must hold a current driving licence as Site visits will be required.
