This company is working to battle air pollution, greenhouse gases, and food waste - by developing a range of zero-emission technologies powered by liquid nitrogen. They apply these technologies in refrigerated transport, built environment and commercial vehicles. The open-plan office has a real collaborative feel to it, with everyone working together to achieve a greener, cleaner world.

The Role:
This role will enable you to be responsible for supporting the businesses Procurement & Inventory team. The ideal candidate will need a mechanical engineering background and have experience of bringing together new products/prototyping. You will need to have been in a supplier facing role and understand design for manufacture. This role provides a brilliant opportunity for someone who wishes to develop a career in Procurement & Supply Chain Management.

Day to day activity will include:
- Maintain the businesses procurement and inventory databases
- Manage problems and schedule changes, communicating any supply problems to the relevant teams
- Speed up the PO process, to ensure supplies are delivered on time
- Produce procurement and inventory reports
- Negotiate contracts, improved process and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities
- Assess and evaluate supplies, undertaking performance reviews to ensure contract compliance
- Deliver successful procurement RFI/RFP activities
- Manage the LVP process

What is required:
- MCIPS qualified
- Have a strong interest in developing a career within procurement & supply chain management
- Good understanding on mechanical engineering; ideally powertrain and/or electronics
- Be proactive, challenge pricing, develop networks of suppliers
- Show a talent of negotiation and creativity
- Experience of evaluating the Supply Chain (Supplier Scorecards etc.)
- Understanding of mechanical engineering terms and costing process
- Experience using Sharepoint, Microsoft Dynamics
- Membership of Charted Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS)
