Belmont Recruitment currently have an exciting opportunity available for a Specialist Practitioner to join North Yorkshire County Council's Children & Young People's Disability Service, where the successful candidate will be required to work with those who have Vision or Hearing Impairments.

As a Specialist Practitioner, you will be required to deliver effective support and intervention for Children & Young People between the ages of 0 and 25, who also suffer with Visual or Hearing Impairments. Under the guidance of the VI and HI Specialist Teacher, you will play a crucial role in managing a peripatetic caseload and providing individually tailored early intervention for those you are looking after. This may include running Early Years Parenting Groups, writing EHCP advice and modelling interventions and approaches to schools.

Requirements:

* Experience of working closely with Children, Young People & Families with Visual or Hearing Impairments

* Experience of working within an educational setting (SEN)

* Awareness of the technology used to support vision impairment and / or hearing impairment

* Knowledge of Early Years / Pre School Initiatives

* Ability to work alone as well as part of a team

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

* Experience of delivering Habitation Programmes to members of staff (desirable)

* Full UK Drivers Licence

Contract Length: 2-3 months plus extension

Hours: 37 per week (Monday - Friday)

Salary: GBP12.94 - GBP14.12

Location: Northallerton based, however the successful candidate will be required to travel across the County
