WHAT COMPANY WILL YOU BE WORKING FOR?
We are delighted to be searching for a HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) Advisor to join a high-volume, manufacturing organisation at their site based in Annan. This is a permanent role and offers you the chance to work within a team that aims to change the way the business and employees see Health and Safety.. This is therefore an opportunity for you to challenge the status quo and help lead HSE in a practical and hands-on role.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE?
AS HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) Advisor, you will bring a hands-on, pragmatic and risk-based approach to health and safety management. You will also be a very self-motivated individual, reporting to the HSE Manager who is based at another site.
Your duties will include:
* Being the first point of contact for health and safety queries
* Supporting the Operations Manager and HSE Manager in promoting a positive safety culture across the company
* Completing safety inspections
* Carrying out safety investigations, risk assessments and SOP's
* Checking safety equipment across the site
* Completing HSE inductions including issuing PPE and site orientations
* Carrying out safety audits
* Developing the site Health and Safety committee
* Collecting and documenting HSE metrics
* Establishing credibility with the workforce, colleagues and senior management
* Providing advice, training and coaching to managers and employees, as required
* Ensuring all accidents, incidents and near misses are reported
WHAT EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION?
To be considered for this role, you should meet the following criteria:
* NEBOSH General certificate
* Willingness to train to NEBOSH Diploma level
* Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
* Practical working knowledge as a champion in Health and Safety
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Advanced computer skills, especially using Microsoft Excel and Outlook
Although not essential, it would also be very advantageous if you have experience with 5S, Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing techniques. Experience in monitoring behavioural safety programs would also make your application stand out.
THE CONTRACT
This role is permanent position working from 8.00am until 4.30pm Monday - Friday (40 hours per week). Occasional out of hours/weekend work may be required.
THE SALARY
You will receive an annual salary of between GBP26,000 and GBP30,000, depending on your experience.
