We are currently recruiting for a Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant for our client based in the Marsh Barton area of Exeter. This role would suit an Accounts professional, who is looking for a long-term opportunity, in a friendly business. The company is in the construction sector, and this role would be working closely with the Finance Director.
They have gone through a period of growth, and have moved to new bigger premises, and as such are in a position where they have some catching up to do accounts wise. Therefore, the ideal would be to have someone in situ initially full time, but once caught up there is scope for the hours to reduce to Circa 30 per week. This would be discussed with the sucessful candidate to ensure mutually agreeable hours. This is a Monday-Friday position, and they are flexible on start and finish times for the right candidate.
The business has QuickBooks Accounting software, so familiarity with this system would be really advantageous. They are looking for a bright and enthusiastic candidate, who will fit nicely with their small, friendly, and efficient team. A key part of this position will be relationship building, as to do the role effectively it will be essential to build an excellent rapport with their customers. You will work with the Finance Director 2 days a week, and then the other 3 days have the accounts office to yourself, however there are other departments on site, so you will always have people popping in and out the office, as well as the customers with whom you will keep in regular contact.
Duties -
* Bookkeeping to Trial Balance.
* Data Entry.
* Reconciliations.
* Payroll (Training can be provided in this area).
* Purchase Ledger.
* Payments.
* Credit Control.
* Building relationships with their customers.
