Job Title: Mechanical Build Technician
Location: Yatton, Bristol
Organisation: Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology
Hourly rate: GBP13.53 per hour PAYE or GBP17.64 per hour limited + Attractive Shift Rates
Overtime rate: GBP20.30 per hour PAYE or GBP23.10 per hour limited

About the opportunity:
Mechanical Build Technician required for a global leading company that manufactures Plasma Etch & Plasma Deposition Systems.
You will be part of a great team, working within a modern and clean environment, producing high value Plasma Etch systems and working to the highest quality standards.
Role & Responsibilities:
As a Mechanical Build Technician, your main role would be to add value in the manufacture of the Plasma Systems. You will be part of a highly skilled team of technicians that build and assembles various types of their Plasma Etch Systems. You will be required to build machine systems from start to finish. You will be building the machine systems following engineering drawings and schematics. As a Mechanical Build Technician, your duties will also include, precision fitting work, bending various pipe sizes ranging from 5mm to 7mm and swaging. Good understanding of pneumatics is essential. Ability to use various hand and power tools is absolutely essential for this role.
Essential Requirements:
Previous experience in precision build of special purpose machinery
Detail precision fitting
Ability to work to tight very tight tolerances
A good understating of pneumatics is essential
Ability to bend 5mm diameter stainless steel pipes using a pipe bending tool
A good knowledge and understanding of working with Swagelok or compression fittings
Must be able to read engineering drawings and schematics
Qualifications:
Engineering Apprenticeship
Engineering Craftsman Certificates
HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering
City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering
Any other relevant engineering qualifications
