ker Solutions' Finance Solutions team, based in Aberdeen, is responsible for the delivery of monthly and statutory reporting. Further to this, they are also responsible for providing expert guidance on technical accounting matters to the business. The Finance Solutions team forms part of a wider Finance function that sits within the Group CFO function. We are now looking for a talented individual to strengthen our team. This would suit a newly qualified accountant / taking first step from practice.
Own the uploading of monthly management reporting and forecasts from SAP to HFM, including liaising with our Corporate Accounting team to address queries / resolve issues
Own the preparation of the statutory financial statements and the audit thereof of assigned entities
Support and liaise with the in-country accounting functions of our overseas Joint Ventures / Branches and ensure correctly consolidated into our UK statutory financial statements
Performance of monthly proof of foreign exchange movements and liaison with Corporate Treasury
Provide expert advice on technical accounting matters under group policies (IFRS) whilst ensuring the commercial impact is fully taken into account. Monitor and ensure compliance with new and emerging accounting standards, providing guidance and training to the wider business
Ability to translate technical accounting observations into a language that the rest of the business understands
Preparation / approval of balance sheet reconciliations, including responsibility to close out any identified discrepancies
Provide assistance to internal customers in relation to compliance with Aker Solutions Accounting Principles and related Procedures
Seek opportunities for standardisation and harmonisation within the Finance function
Any other tasks determined by managementQualifications / Personal Attributes:
Chartered Accountant
Proficient in MS Office
In-depth knowledge of IFRS
Experience using Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and SAP (Preferred)
Professional services firm trained (Preferred)
Ability to listen to positive and negative views and be able to influence and persuade others in decision making processes
Ability to manage own workload to ensure responsibilities are completed in-line with Corporate timetables
Proactive, flexible and possess quantitative and analytical skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to assess and resolve problems in a timely manner
