Our client is a leading a leading supplier of Process Instrumentation, Valves & Controls, Pipe, Fittings, Flanges, & Gaskets, Studbolts, Fastenings & Engineering Consumables.

Their network of Branches, Workshops and Sales Managers across the UK coupled with their extensive Stockholding & Production, Calibration & Repair, Service & Hire, means that whatever their customers need and wherever they are, they are ideally placed to provide them with "the complete engineering and process solution??"

They are currently looking for an Area Sales Manager for Pipeline & Mechanical products to join their sales team in Grimsby. The successful candidate will have external responsibility for their existing customer base which boasts an extensive range of customers from various industry sectors. The role also requires the ability to develop new business opportunities within the geographical area.

You will be responsible for delivering cash generative profitable growth within your sales area.

Our ideal candidate is a goal-oriented target-driven person with an excellent knowledge of Pipeline, Mechanical and associated products. Proven track record in a similar environment will be beneficial.

Principal Tasks and Accountabilities:

* As the regional contact point for nominated end-user accounts, monitor and report on progress against Account Plans to maximize orders and profits.

* Seek new opportunities in your geographical area.

* Develop long-term relationships with senior management within customer accounts to ensure awareness of the capabilities of the company.

* Work with the accounts to understand and define short and long-range requirements.

* Actively visit customers to promote range of Pipeline & Mechanical products.

* Identify opportunities for the whole product portfolio and work with colleagues to maximise these opportunities.

* Maximize both face to face meetings and high-level relationships with customers.

* Improve customer satisfaction by finding solutions to their needs.

* Understand customer business drivers and demonstrate linkage between recommended products/solutions to customer's needs and business objectives.

* Recommend price models and framework that fits the future business outlook and enables the company to capture maximum orders and profitability from the account and facilitate the formation of agreements by discerning the win/win for both parties.

Ideal candidates will require:

* Degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent industry experience.

* Proven background in proactive selling and/or Key Account Management (5yrs+ sales experience).

* Excellent knowledge of Pipeline, Mechanical and associated products.

* Excellent presentation and written communication skills.

* A good problem solver.

* Logical thinker and ability to review issues from differing viewpoints.

* Able to prioritize a varied workload to meet operational demands.

* Flexible working approach to ensure deadlines are achieved.

* Holder of a full UK driving license.
