Elevation Recruitment Group are currently working with a Derbyshire based manufacturing business in the hire of a Production Manager with an immediate start. This role is initially to work on a 6-month fixed term contract basis and dependant on the individuals efforts and overall output there may be an opportunity for contract extension if not a permanent position.
Our client, which supplies to OEMs across the UK and on a Global scale is big on quality therefore this Production Manager will have a proven history in 'right first time' and a keen eye for improvement with the ability to know what good manufacturing looks like. You will be analytically strong in order to manage and lead change across production teams on varied shifts and able to deliver across all KPIs and company's financials.
Production Manager Duties & Responsibilities include:
- Manage teams according to workflow; shift patterns and individuals inc. performance and absence management
- Ensure good practice for housekeeping and safety in the workplace is applied across all production
- Encourage the workforce to maintain good levels of quality and minimal waste
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and productivity improvements
- Maintain good time keeping and absence levels across the production teams
- Review individuals training needs; hold regular reviews; absence and performance meetings
Elevation Recruitment Group are keen to speak with experienced Production Managers who possess the following skills and experience:
- Available for an immediate start
- Minimum 5 years' experience working within a Production/Operations Management capacity where you have led multiple teams 60 heads + and hold strong skills in following company systems and processes
- Proven experience in high volume manufacturing with 'right first time', output and quality has been measured
- Strong management and people skills are essential with absence levels at a low and time keeping high
- Training in CI is high desirable, such as six sigma etc.
- Degree, HND/HNC or NVQ in manufacturing or engineering related subject
- IOSH Managing Safely OR NEBOSH is highly desirable
