Our client is a leading world wide manufacturer that is dedicated to producing products that's quality is recognised as second to none. Due to growth into various export markets they are looking for a Value Stream Manager to come on board part of the management team.
Role & Responsibilities:
*Responsible for reducing he non-value added elements in the value stream and eliminating waste in the supply chain from start to finish
*Defining the product family by conducting product routing analysis
*Preparing for future state map that uses lean techniques to eliminate waste and improve process value in the short to mid term
*Supervise all value stream members, shop floor staff and team leaders
*Plan, schedule and coordinate departmental activities to fulfil sales orders
*Ensure objective & goals are met and exceeded through performance related development
*Manage and drive staffing plans, schedules, initiatives and performance levels
*Contribute to overall profit targets through budget reporting, planning & cost control
*Enforce a continuous improvement & lean culture
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
*Must have working knowledge of engineering & manufacturing industry
*Must be used to working in a high-pressure, results driven environment and willing to get stuck in
*Practical experience of assembly techniques, machine shop and assembly production
*Must have most recently worked as a senior manager, head of production or production manager within a unionised organisation
*Have thorough knowledge of all manufacturing methods, techniques and related equipment
*Working knowledge of Lean or TPS principles
*High level of organisational & planning skills
*Able to work to tight deadlines & budgetary requirements
*Come from a continuous improvement / lean manufacturing environment and culture
Benefits Package:
*Salary:- GBP40,000
