Our client has been established for almost a century and are recognised as the market leader in high precision analysis and measurement equipment solutions for a range of applications, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of planned strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and self-motivated Workshop and Field Service Engineer to complement their established and professional team.

Based near Harlow, the successful Workshop and Field Service Engineer candidate will be responsible for providing both workshop (primary - 80%) and onsite Calibration, Certification and Repair services (secondary field work 20%) and IQ OQ PQ for Laboratory instruments and accessories to customers throughout the UK.

As the role has a field service element to the position, it is essential that you hold a full clean UK driving licence for the position to allow you to undertake the repair and calibration of the company's portfolio of laboratory instruments and IQ OQ PQ activities at customer facilities.

You will demonstrate excellent customer facing communication skills at all levels as well as strong associated administration abilities (maintaining accurate records relating to calibration certificates, quotes and invoicing etc), and be confident in liaising with customers to schedule on-site field service visits and provide quotations received by Customer Sales & Service staff as follow-up, as well as instructing customers on the features and benefits of higher level instruments that can provide enhanced testing capability, and working with them to increase their understanding and use of company instrumentation, along with the appropriate analysis to match their needs with the right instrument.

You will also positively encourage the proper use and need for the company's bespoke Fluid solutions for calibration purposes and train customers in the proper use and care of their equipment, especially as it relates to sensitivity and maintenance-related aspects. To be considered for this varied and technically challenging role, it is envisaged that you will qualified to at least HNC level or above in a relevant engineering discipline and will possess previous experience of field based onsite service and commissioning work gained within a technical support environment.

A high level of manual dexterity is required due to the intricate nature of the high accuracy product portfolio, as are exceptional customer liaison skills and a high level of commitment to customer service and satisfaction. Basic IT and network administration and fault-finding skills along with electronic system fault finding abilities are also essential for the position and you will be particularly adept in analysing and rapidly solving complex problems on customer sites.
